Frequently asked questions:
Does ear candling hurt?
Not at all! It is a painless, harmless and very relaxing experience. Except for the crackling noises, from the burning wax and fungus that are being drawn up the chimney of the candle, you would never know that anything was happening in your ear.
How long does an ear candling session last?
About 45 minutes, however I like to allow one hour for each appointment.
How often should I do ear candling?
At first, 2 or 3 sessions should get the ears clean. However, some people may need up to 8 sessions over a six month period. Once your ears are clean, it is best to use your own judgement as to how often to have your ears candled. Every three to six months would be practical.
Who can benefit from ear candling?
Everyone from infants to adults can benefit from ear candling. Musicians can benefit, especially singers and horn blowers, since they often have a lot more wax build up than most people. People with hearing aids as well as those who have had previous ear injuries benefit since they tend to have a greater build up of wax and fungus.
Who should not have ear candling?
Ear candling should not be preformed on people who have ear tubes, perforated ear drums, or artificial ear drums.
